kids talking

My little D. and I were talking about something couple of days ago and he mentioned:
- N. got this new poster that says "Gymnastics is Life. everything else - just details." She wants to put it on the door. Don't put it up, it's not true!
Knowing how he loves gymnastics, I smiled and asked him:
- Well, what is the life for you - and everything else just details?
He looked at me with surprise on his face, the expression was "how can adults not understand such obvious things?", and said:
- They are the same. The details are the life.

P.S. I'm regularly smitten by the pure wisdom of this 8 years old.

broken

There was a moment in the Presanctified this week where we sang "the King of Glory enters" - and that caught my attention: He enters not with glory but with humility and for suffering.

Then later at the altar the priest said: "Иисус Христос... Jesus Christ, Conqueror..." - again, without magnificence of a worldly "Conqueror" but with quiet humility, and that pierced my heart as that victory was won by much suffering and death.

And then we sang "taste and see that the Lord is good" - and I saw: because "come, eat, This is My Body broken for you"...
